MTN Nigeria in a statement has announced that its subscriber base has hit 54 million subscribers. MTN Nigeria subscriber base grow by 4.3 million at the end of March 2018. The company also posted strong financial report in the first quarter of 2018.
A breakdown of the figure shows an additions of 2.3 million at the end of Q1 2018 and 2.0 million net additions in Q4 2017. It attributed the growth to roll out of its 3G and 4G services in 10 major cities across the country. It also recorded 15.2% growth in voice revenue, increased constant currency service revenue by 14.4% and data revenue by 73.2% year-on-year.
Mr. Ferdi Moolman CEO of MTN Nigeria said;
MTN Nigeria delivered a strong performance for the Q1 2018, supported by growth in data revenue and increased scale. We also maintained positive momentum in growing our subscriber base and maintaining our network leadership position.
MTN Nigeria still maintain the highest subscriber base in the country, closely followed by Globacom. Despite the challenges, the company still offers a faster internet and call service.
