The smart speaker production industry for has for long been dominated by the likes Amazon, Apple, Xiaomi and Google but a new player is in town. Yes you heard me right as Russian search giant Yandex has officially launched its own smart speaker. Known as Yandex Station, the device is the company’s first smart speaker introduced with its own digital assistant called Alice.
Yandex Station smart speaker is targeted at the Russian-speaking market and comes equipped with Bluetooth capabilities and HDMI port. The digital assistant Alice is capable of hearing workout tips, checking mobile phone bills, buy plane tickets, ordering pizza, and helping you cast video to TV.
The device comes with a powerful audio specs, which includes two 10W drivers and a 30W woofer. With Yandex Station users can stream video from Yandex’s own platform KinoPoisk and other Russian video streaming services like Amediateka.
The Yandex Station comes at a cost $160 which is about 9,990 rubles in Russia. The device will be available this summer, coupled with a premium subscription to Yandex music, streaming, and taxi services.
