China could launch commercial 5G system by the end of this year, says deputy minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). Chen Xiongxiong the deputy minister MIIT, says accelerated works are ongoing to see that 5G becomes a reality by the end of the year. The country which has been a key developer of the 5G service, making tremendous achievements in some areas. Already, China has completed the international standard of the first phase of 5G systems.
The country’s enterprises also participated fully in the formulation of 5G international standards. It played an instrumental part in areas of large-scale antennas and network coding. China has started various testing work to ensure that the commercial system equipment conforming to the first version of 5G international standards will be launched before the end of this year.
China has also launched the second version of the 5G international standard a revelation made by Wang Zhiqin, head of the national 5G promotion group. This is focused on optimizing the enhanced applications of 5G for the Internet of Things (IoT), such as media, virtual reality, drones, power industry, public security systems. With this development, we may see China becoming the first nation to commercializing 5G service.
