Android 9 Pie comes with a lot of amazing features that is why most high-end phones run on the OS. When Infinix launched the Note 5 few months back, the device comes with Android 8.1 Oreo and the company promised an upgrade. Keeping with that promise, Infinix invited users of Infinix Note 5 and Note 5 Stylus users to its Beta Testing program.

Now the company has announced that the Android 9 Pie is finally available for Note 5 users via OTA. Some of the best Android 9 Pie features include Adaptive Battery which uses machine learning to prioritize system resources for the apps, App Actions that helps you raise the visibility of your app and help drive engagement using machine learning. It also comes Slices which are a new way to surface rich, templated content in places like Google Search and Assistant.

How to Upgrade Infinix Note 5 Android 9 Pie

First, you need to check your build number. To do this,

  • Go to Settings>>About Phone (at bottom of the page)>>Build number
  • Go to settings>> About Phone>> System Update>> Local update
  • Click on your TCard storage and hit the install button button

Quietly wait for the installation to complete. Your phone should restart in about 10 minutes and then you’ll have the latest Android 9 upgrade successfully installed.

Things To Do Before You Upgrade

  • Before you upgrade your smartphone, make sure your smartphone is not rooted. Reason is because, it may cause it to crash.
  • Ensure your phone is charged up 60% or better 90% if possible
  • Back up of your current firmware should in case the need arise to downgrade your device if the update contains bugs.
  • Make sure you have enough data before you click on download
