We all know Google is a major player in both the search engine and tech industry. One major rival, the company has, is Yandex the Russian own version of Google. Just like Google, Yandex not only has its own search engine, but also its own browser, ad networks and voice assistance. Now just as Google has the Pixels smartphone, Yandex has officially joined the smartphone business.
The Russian tech giant recently unveiled it’s new smartphone, featuring the company own voice assistance call Alice. The device which is known as Yandex.Phone comes with a pretty decent specs. The company back in May launched the Yandex.Station smart speaker, which brought Alice to its Russian users.
Yandex made the announced via its official blog, where the company wrote;
We’re excited to provide mobile users with the best Yandex smartphone experience. Our smartphone gives Russian mobile users unrivaled integration with our ecosystem with a mobile experience personalized with Yandex apps and services. Yandex.Phone learns more about its owner’s schedule as they use the phone, and the phone provides notifications based on what its user is doing. Integration with Yandex.Maps gives users timely traffic updates while Yandex.Weather provides hyperlocal forecasting.
Yandex.Phone is the only smartphone in Russia to have Alice completely integrated into the phone. For the first time, mobile users can use Russia’s most powerful, intelligent assistant across all apps and services. Alice can be activated regardless of what a user is doing on the phone, and the user can employ voice commands to interact with the assistant even when the phone is not being held.
