Huawei Rolls Out Android 9 Pie Update For Mate 9, Mate 9 Pro, Mate 9 Porsche Design, & Nova 2s


Huawei has started rolling out the latest Android 9 Pie update for its Mate 9 series and Nova 2s in China. The update, which is EMUI 9 based, is coming to the Mate 9, Mate 9 Pro, Mate 9 Porsche Design, and Nova 2s smartphones. For those outside China, you should be getting the latest update in a couple of weeks.

Huawei launched the Mate 9 Series back in 2016 running on Android 7.0, powered by 1.8GHz Octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 960 processor. The Nova 2s on the other hand, was announced in 2017, featuring an Android 8.0 (Oreo) OS, with EMUI 8 based HiSilicon Kirin 960 processor. While the Nova 2s came with a 3340mAh battery, the Mate 9 Series all featured a 4,000mAh battery capacity.

The update brings to the device, 25.8% faster overall responsiveness, 12.9% more fluency in operation. It also comes with GPU Turbo 2.0 deeply integrated to make playing games a more enjoyable experience.
