Tech giant Google has officially confirmed that it will be getting out of tablet business. This was confirmed by Google’s Senior VP for Devices & Services, who revealed that the company will solely be focusing on laptops. It was also revealed that, the company was working on two small-sized tablets, but has decided to stop their development earlier this week.
Google said those working on the tablet have been moved to the laptop division. He added the company would continue to support the Pixel Slate until June 2024. It will be unveiling its new Pixelbook laptop along with the Pixel 4 later this year. This will be the successor of the original Pixelbook which was released back in 2017.

Rick Osterloh, SVP of Google’s hardware division also confirmed that Android and Chrome OS teams will be working with their partners to work on tablets for consumer, enterprise and educational segments.
