MTN Nigeria has appointed Mr. Srinivas Rao as the company first Chief Digital Officer (CDO) in its newly created Digital Services Division. The company made this announcement on Wednesday, July 3 2019 via twitter. Rao role, will be to lead MTN next level of design, planning and deployment of digital services & channels for customers and partners.
He has two decades of management experience in IT and telecoms, and will be bringing significant knowledge and expertise from working with MTN operations in the Middle East and Africa. Before his appointment, Rao spend the last 8 years leading one of MTN’s largest operations in its technology development, product innovation & digital transformation programme.

MTN Nigeria CEO, Ferdi Moolman, who spoke of the appointment said, he was happy and that Roa experience will be very useful for the company. According to him;

The Digital Services division, according to the company, will play a pivotal role in driving MTN’s digital business growth. MTN revealed that its creation marks the company’s commitment to its vision of leading the delivery of a bold, new digital world to its customers.
