Infinix is a household name when it comes to the smartphone business in Africa. Own by Transsion Holdings and founded in 2013 after the French mobile manufacturer Sagem Wireless was acquired in 2011, the Hong Kong-based smartphone company has become the leading and best selling smartphone in Nigeria surpassing the likes of  Samsung and Huawei.

Aside the smartphone business, the company also ventured into the smart TV business with the introduction of the Infinix X1 Smart Android TV which is available in two models 32 and 43-inch screen sizes. Now, it is taking it a step further with the launching of its first laptop called the Infinix Inbook X1.

The new Infinix Inbook X1 is available in different variety of processors including Intel Core i3-1005G1, Core i5-1035G1 and Core i7-1065G7 (this version has Intel Iris Plus graphics up to 64EU). We have either 8GB or 16GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB PCIe SSD.

As per the design, the Inbook X1 has an aluminium sand blasted anodized body, with a 14″ FHD screen that bends all the way with the 180-degree hinge. It has a 4.19 bezel around the display, 16.3mm thick and weights around 1.5kg. The device comes with a full-size Backlit Chiclet Keyboard.

Other features include sporting a DTS audio processing, Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 6 and a 720P webcam. For ports we have, one USB-C port, 2 USB 3.0 ports and one USB 2.0 port, one HDMI port, One SD card slot, and 3.5mm headphone and microphone jack.

The Infinix Inbook X1 comes with a feature that allows users to synchronize files between laptops, TVs, and smartphones. It comes with a 55Wh battery that supports 65W(USB-C) PD3.0 AC adapter and gives consumers 11 hours of screen time. The charger is capable of juicing up the laptop to 70% in one hour and can also be used to power up Infinix smartphones.

Pricing and Availability

The Infinix Inbook X1 will be available in Egypt, Indonesia, and Nigeria next month, with a price tag starting at $530. That is just about N218,000 (Naira) here in Nigeria.
